Syndeo has a direct hire opportunity for a Controller with a local specialty medical practice in Manhattan, Kansas, as a Controller. As the Controller, you'll work under the direction of the Practice Administrator as a key player in overseeing the financial operations of the practice, ensuring compliance, and facilitating strategic company financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support revenue growth and profitability by collaborating with the executive team to identify short- and long-term financial objectives and align policies accordingly.
• Develop analytical metrics for informed decision-making.
• Review, create, and maintain financial reporting policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory guidance.
• Collaborate with physicians and practice administrator on budget development and monitoring.
• Prepare and present analysis of monthly financials and reports.
• Manage all accounting functions, including banking, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations.
• Monitor revenue cycle and cash flow regularly.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards in financial services provided.
• Establish effective methods for performance assessment.
• Administer payroll and related tax reporting accurately and timely.
• Provide timely financial status updates to physicians.
• Present accurate financial data to facilitate decision-making.
• Maintain positive relationships with payers.
• Monitor payer contract performance and evaluate contracting opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, related field or equivalent experience
• 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
• Proficiency in financial accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and financial reporting standards
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
• Ability to analyze financial data and provide strategic insights
